Located right in the heart of the upper half of New Jersey, some 320,000+ plus residents call our county home. Listed as the 9th wealthiest county in the US (by per-capita income), our county residents enjoy the opportunities available in the New York metropolitan area but love the peaceful retreat that our area offers.
We share borders with five other counties in New Jersey. They are Hunterdon County, Mercer County, Morris County, Middlesex County, and Union County.
This site is here to serve our residents, our guests and our friends. Somerset County NJ offers residents and tourists a beautiful setting in the Northeastern United States. Our county dates back to the year 1681, when it was first settled and named after the English county of the same name. The county has played host to many historical events, playing roles in both world wars and having given shelter to General George Washington’s army as they marched southward.
We will keep you updated on current news and events. This will include information about Somerset County library and Somerset County parks. We also have information on Somerset County Public Schools.
Welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay.
